Montana protein wheat fuels Pacific Coast millers demand
Robert E. White of Portland, on the Pacific coast grain board, says Montana protein wheat is popular with Washington and Oregon mills. He notes Montana wheat is not exported due to its high milling value and that its dark northern spring variety commands a premium for 16 percent protein or higher, with increments for each half percent rise. White is consulting with local grain men.
