Te ton high eyes future class sizes as re registrations rise

The 1931 1932 Te ton high year ends with commencement. Principal Guthrie plans to spend summer at his home then may visit Bedford Indiana. Re registration shows juniors becoming seniors total 57 with next year’s seniors numbers likely a new record. Freshman class expected large with about 40 eighth graders from Chateau to enter. Guthrie to register eighth graders later this week. May tax collection may affect plans. no successor named for two resignations and leave for Luther. Music status undetermined. Teachers re employed for next year.

Memorial Day Exercises Parade to Court House and cemetery

Memorial Day 10:00 a.m. parade forms at Court House. March route: Main Avenue to Power Morgan corner, west to First Avenue, south to First Street, east to Spring Creek bridge, then by car to the cemetery for services. Remarks, Lincoln Gettysburg Address, introduction of speakers, Star Spangled Banner, salute to the dead, Taps. Post officials and local veterans listed with names and units. Eighth Grade Diploma Exercises Held At High School

Thirty-nine pupils—twenty boys and nineteen girls—will receive diplomas at a Friday night ceremony in the high school auditorium. Miss Ruby Miller announces the program with addresses on education by Frederick Meadows Jod Billings and Mikie Mozer, a cantata, and class selections. The class motto is Rowing, not drifting, with blue and gold colors and tulip as the flower.

J E Lewis Files For County Commissioner

J E Lewis a farmer and business man of Pendroy for 18 years filed on the republican ticket for county commissioner to succeed W D Jones. He pledges service to the public and has lived on his Pendroy homestead since 1909. He formerly ran a transfer business in Conrad and managed the Montana Elevator at Pendroy for seven years. He is married with children educated in Chateau and was born in Fargo North Dakota in 1886.

Lionism program outlined by Anson at Chateau club

Don Anson Montana Alberta Lions district governor spoke on Lionism aims to help other communities and contribute time and effort. He outlined the Calgary district convention and the June 15 Cut Bank gathering leading to Lethbridge and Calgary with a four day plan and Banff barbecue. Robert Clarkson named one of three song leaders. Kephart discussed bankers’ role in harvest season.

45 Young People Graduated From Teton High

At the Teton high school commencement 45 seniors received diplomas in one of the largest crowds in the school’s history. Prof Edmund L Freeman of Montana State University gave the address on Mental Unemployment touched on current affairs and urged a humane social order and greater equality.

County Home Demonstration Council forms in county

A Friday meeting led to continued county home demonstration activities centered on foods and nutrition. A new Teton County Home Demonstration Council was formed with Mrs. Florence Davison as chair and Mrs. F. W. Smith as secretary. Council members will serve until September. County Agent Robert Clarkson will advise. An educational food and nutrition exhibit is planned for the North Central Montana Fair in Great Falls. A committee will coordinate with project leaders across clubs.
