Choteau Fairfield and Dutton American Legion posts join for Memorial Day events starting at 10 oclock with a parade from Court House to the cemetery. Choteau band and firing squad participate with Dutton Legionnaires, remarks by Dr C W Bouyssard and M S Bullerdick, address by Randall Carpenter of Great Falls Post No 3, and a salute to the dead. All patriotic groups invited to join.

Largest class ever honors at Teton County High
Forty nine pupils received diplomas at the Teton County High School graduation in the auditorium. James T. Robison presented the diplomas as Rev. Edw Dover offered the benediction. Class president Kathleen Walker introduced speakers who addressed subjects from chemistry to ethical character. Principal Guthrie urged restoring domestic science and music funding amid budget strains.

The county Chautauqua committee discussed August 2 to 4 programs with plans to include all communities, two notable outside speakers, a junior Chautauqua in the forenoons, plays, stunts, music, games and addresses. Mayor Martin Grinde of Great Falls travelled to Choteau to gather facts and express regret over a street band disruption during music week. He praised the Choteau band and recalled funding past performances, while noting the officer’s curt demeanor sparked local displeasure.

Ranch Hand Injured When Horse Falls on Badger Hole
Lynn Hoyt, a Coffey Bros. ranch hand, was treated at Chateau hospital for injuries after a horse fell into a badger hole while he rode to separate bands of sheep. The mount sommersaulted, catching Hoyt in the saddle. He sustained injuries to the stomach groins and legs and is improving. Hoyt is a nephew of Mr and Mrs JL B Hardy.

Aged Collins Matron Dies After Pneumonia Battle
Mrs. Anna Ecklund 80 of Collins passed away early Friday morning after pneumonia and artery hardening. A Swede by birth, she lived in Collins most of her life. Funeral services were held Saturday in Dutton with Rev. Chester Bredo officiating and Charles G. Roberts directing.

Scouts to Visit Ranger L J Howard at Lubec Station
Eighteen Chateau Boy Scouts will be guests of Ranger L J Howard at the Lubec ranger station this weekend as a reward for winning first place in an inter-troop rally at Dutton. Young Couple Marries in Great Falls
News reports a marriage last week in Great Falls between J. H. Pfeiffer of Dupuyer, 26, and Miss Mary Ruth Phillips, 19 of Fendrey. Diebride was a 1931 Teton high graduate and a popular member of the younger set. An unrelated incident involved a Fairfield resident bringing her two year-old daughter for ether to remove peas lodged in the child’s nose after a granary mishap.

Senator Erickson to Have Summer Home at Park
Mrs. J. I. Erickson wife of Senator J. F. Erickson former Montana governor and their daughter Miss Ellinor Erickson visited Chateau Sunday with Dr and Mrs B Beaupre en route from Helena to Glacier Park where they will establish a summer home. Household goods from Helena will be trucked up soon. Senator Erickson is expected from Washington in June. Mrs Erickson did not accompany him to that city.

America honors World War dead as poppies go on display nationwide. In Choteau the American Legion auxiliary will distribute memorial poppies throughout the city on a voluntary contribution basis to aid disabled veterans and their families. Be prepared to buy your poppy.
