Former CHS Teacher Named MSU Assistant Professor
Richard Lewis Darling has been appointed assistant professor of education at Montana State University. He will teach school library science courses for training librarians and offer consultant services to Montana schools. He will also serve as a visiting instructor in the 1956 summer session as MSU begins a 30 quarter hour minor in school library science. Darling, an MSU alumnus, has held multiple roles including graduate teaching assistant and teacher librarian positions. Local congregations approved securing a student assistant pastor for 1957-58 under Rev. A Bernard Gravdal.

Choteau High School placed tenth in the Class B State Interscholastic track meet in Missoula last week with 12 points. Jim Lohse earned all points by winning both the 120 yard high hurdles and the 180 yard low hurdles. His times were 15.4 seconds in the high hurdles and 20.8 seconds in the low hurdles. Polson High School won the meet with 221.4 points followed by Ronan with 19.5.6.

City Clerk J. M. Sulgrove announced new watering rules in the city. A siren will blow at 16 a.m. Friday to end the morning watering period, with irrigation allowed from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Each hose must have a nozzle or sprayer and water users must shut off hoses during a fire.

Funeral Held for Accident Victim in Great Falls
Funeral services were held for Henry G Kind 72 of Power drowned when his car overturned in a ditch two miles southwest of Power on Sunday. Companion Frank Quad escaped. Kind leaves three daughters, four sons, 33 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Second service and burial followed in Kalispell.
