Mary Hensley Wins Award At Kansas City
Chateau High School junior Mary Claire Hensley spent a week in Kansas City at the 22nd International Science and Engineering Fair with about 400 students from across the United States and abroad. The event showcased engineering alongside science projects. she earned a third honor award of $50 for her exhibit "A Diagnostic Test for Cognitive Development."

Pee Wee Baseball Practice Scheduled
The next practice for Pee Wee age baseball players will be held Friday at 6 30 weather permitting. All boys six seven and eight years old are eligible to play in the Pee Wee League but must pay a two dollar insurance fee. The present schedule calls for the Pee Wee Leaguers to practice on Tuesday and Friday nights.

Park Improvements Discussed At Monday Council Meeting
Dr. Bill Patton told Chateau City Council about a tree planting program funded by Montana State University, with 70 Elm, Ash and Evergreen trees planted in the park and at the baseball complex. Special school levies won approval in several districts with light turnout. Choteau Elementary and kindergarten operations will be funded by 13.7 mills raising 49 943 dollars. approved 88 to 7. Choteau High School operation and maintenance authorized 5.5 mills raising 34 425 10. approved 116 to 22. Farmington Agawam and Pendrey districts supported the levy 7 to 2, 7 to 2, and 7 to 4 respectively. Bynum split 7 for and 7 against.

AFS Art Show Proven Successful in Great Falls
The AFS Art Show at the Chateau Public Library drew 170 adults and 72 students with 53 artists displaying paintings ceramics and other works. Net profit totaled 390 with 151.60 from commissions and the rest from admissions and donations.
