Voters are reminded of the special levy election on May 15. Polls open 12 noon to 8 pm at Chateau grade school cafeteria and districts in Bynum Pendrey Aga wam and Farmington. Ballots seek a 5.5 mill high school levy and a 13.7 mill elementary levy with absent ballots available at Olsen Agency until Friday noon.

American Field Service Art Show Sunday in Chateau Public Library
The third annual AFS Art Show is set for Sunday May 16 at Chateau Public Library. Local and surrounding artists display works with some for sale. Bennett F Golding 96 Dies In Choteau
Bennett Engel Golding died at his home in Choteau on May 6 at age 96. Born August 26, 1875 in Missouri, he came to Teton County in 1897, homesteaded near Bynum, worked on local sheep ranches, and retired in 1943. Funeral May 10 at Banks Chapel with Rev. Allen Adams officiating. pallbearers named. Surviving son Omer L. Golding of Oregon City, Oregon.

General Fishing Season Opens Sunday May 16 1971
The 1971 general fishing season begins Sunday May 16 with rule changes. Most waters allow 24 hour fishing except Georgetown Lake near Anaconda from 5 am to 11 pm. All fishermen need a 1971 license. 15 to 64 pay $4 plus 25 cent conservation stamp. Under 15 free. residents 65 plus obtain a Pioneer License for 15 cents.

Sharla Hinman 10, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ron Hinman, won honorable mention in the 1972 Calendar for Children's Art Competition. Among 3000 entries 13 won and 50 earned honorable mentions. Bouma Opens Princeton Plant for Fence Posts and Poles
Bouma Post Yards of Choteau opens a new plant at Princeton Canada to manufacture pressure treated fence posts barn poles utility poles and custom treating of ties bridge timbers mine props and other lumber products. The facility uses automatic barrier sorter and pressurized drums and aims to process 500000 cubic feet annually. It will employ 12 per shift with three shifts at peak plus 30 woodsmen, with payroll around 300000 yearly.
