Choteau Elementary School schedules graduation for May 25 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Pinewood Derby Set for Sunday Cub Scout Picnic
Cub Scout Pack No. 51 sponsored by the American Legion Post will hold a potluck picnic at the city park Sunday May 21 starting at 1 p.m. A flag burning ceremony will open the event followed by a Den 51 picnic. Flood Preparations Under Way By Civil Defense
Civil Defense Red Cross county and city officials met in Chateau to assign flood duties. They warned a flood like 1964 is possible due to heavy winter snow and cold spring runoff. A 10 hour warning is planned with evacuation and shelter arrangements coordinated by county welfare and Red Cross.

Golfers Plan Summer Events at Chateau Country Club

Chateau High School will send 10 athletes to the Montana State Track and Field Championships in Billings this weekend. Firemen Response To Trailer Fire In Choteau
Choteau firemen answered a call to a Watters Construction trailer north of the high school Monday shortly after 1 p.m. The fire caused minor damage to the trailer floor when an electrical cord wrapped around a water pipe shorted out. The owner is the contractor for the new Choteau High School. A practice drill is set for Friday May 26 at 7 p.m., the first in a spring and summer series. Chief R F Erickson emphasized full participation.

Final Lazy Eye Tests Set for Methodist Church
A re screening for amblyopia or lazy eye will be held Friday May 19 from 4 to 5 p m at Chateau Methodist Church. Health nurse Betty Swenson will attend for further testing and to include children who were unable to attend last Saturday. The Jayceons note only 15 children tested last week versus 60 previously. all three to six year olds should be tested yearly unless five or six year olds showed no symptoms last year.

Fishing Season Opens Sunday in Montana
The Montana general fishing season starts Sunday May 21. Hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daylight time. Daily limit is 10 pounds and one fish not to exceed 10 pounds. Brook trout catch of 10 pounds allowed in addition to other species. Licenses required for residents except under 15 or over 65. 65 plus must carry proof of age. Resident license set at $4 this year, up from $3.
