Rain postpones the annual Teton county grade school meet set for last Saturday with a new date this Saturday. County Superintendent Anna E Stafford warns weather could cancel the event again. Officials coordinate with schools and clubs. events include cocoa lunch, parade, Legion band concert, and trophies totaling 100 ribbons plus medals and pennants.

County Agent records show rainfall up to Monday at 1.32 inches, exceeding May totals of several prior years. Compared with historic months, 1922 2.19 inches and 1927 8.28 inches stand out while the coldest to date is 29 and the warmest 79.

Montana State College extension leader Blanche Lee may visit Teton county to launch home demonstration projects. County Agent Obert Clarkson organized outreach across 14 communities asking for 10 to 12 interested women per area and a meeting site to form committees. Projects include foods nutrition clothing and home management with specific subtopics such as feeding the family meal planning kitchen equipment and water supply.

Mr and Mrs William T Crawford of the T S Gap community returned by train from California where they spent the winter they left in December traveling via Butte and Ogden. In Nampa California they visited their son Earl who is superintendent of schools. In Los Angeles they met Mrs M J Beistler and other former Teton county residents. The trip benefited their health and they plan to spend summer at their ranch leased to John and Oscar Richem.

An intersection crash occurred Wednesday morning at Division street and First avenue southwest. Fred Dutro driving a Buick with seven children struck a Chevrolet sedan driven by Miss Marion Hassos, a public school teacher. Both cars overturned, damaged, and knocked a corner power post six feet from perpendicular. Each driver claimed the right of way.

Denver man killed in western Montana auto wreck
J Theodore of Denver Colo was killed when a Rickenbacker coach left the highway south of Bole, overturned, and trapped him under the car. A wife and Rose Duzik survived. the accident followed speeding and loose gravel. The body was sent to Denver. the car remained in Chateau garage.
