The Teton Memorial Hospital association hosts an auction sale at 1 PM Saturday in Chateau to raise 700 dollars toward a 40,000 goal. Items include a car, trailer, sheep, stoves, heaters, radios, an outboard motor, horse, furniture and more. Directors urge last minute donations and promise to sell items even if not listed.

Scout Circus to Highlight Choteau Scouts Day Parade

Choteau hosts a Boy Scout Circus this Saturday night with 14 field events on the high school facility. A 5 PM Main Street parade led by a band precedes a 6 PM banquet at the Lutheran church basement where Browning scouts Francis X. Guardi pee and Earl Old Person describe their Paris World Jamboree trip. Free admission, circus under lights begins 7 30 PM with grand entry, flag ceremony, clown acts, chariot races and band music.

District Governor Speaks at Lions Club Charter Observance

Lion District Governor Ray Welter of Great Falls addressed Chateau Lions Club for its 21st anniversary charter night at the Masonic temple. Montana Glimpses poetry booklet by Barrett and Alpha

Dorothy Barrett and Andy Alpha publish a 16 page booklet titled Montana Glimpses featuring 21 poems about Montana landscapes and people. The cover sketches Haystack Butte Augusta and poems range from Glacier Park to a Chinook. Barrett has prior poetry credits and Alpha, a petroleum geologist, drew the illustrations. The work is available in northern Montana bookstores including Choteau Drug Co.

Dr J A March Finishes Third in Helena Registered Shoot

Dr J A March of Chateau placed third at a state registered shoot in Helena last Sunday, scoring 188 of 200. John Cheek of Dillon and Al Mitchell of Butte took first and second with 189 and 190. March led the handicap with 93 while hitting 95 in singles to reach 188. Clyde Darby accompanied March, though many Chateau trapsmen stayed home due to bad weather.

Trap Club Plans Chicken Shoot For This Sunday

The Choteau Trap Club hosts a public chicken shoot at the Cho teau grounds this Sunday using new cement yardage walks to elevate the facility to ATA standards. A telegraph shoot also takes place Sunday morning with last week's trio of perfect 25s by Al Jaumotte Clark Coffey and Dr. John March noted.

John W. Bonner former Montana attorney general and gubernatorial candidate will deliver the Memorial Day address at Chateau on May 30. Veterans from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will appear in uniform at 10 30 a m for a commemorative ceremony followed by a parade and graveside rites.

The Choteau Lions invite all members to wear swabbing britches and report at the Choteau swimming pool on Sunday May 16 at 9 am for a community clean up. Free coffee and doughnuts will be provided, swab supervisor Jim Henderson said.
