Teton County High to Graduate Largest Class Yet
Fifty forty five seniors will receive diplomas at Teton County High School on Friday May 20 in a historic commencement. Principal Guthrie notes the class is the largest in six years with 11 boys and 34 girls. Valedictorian Marybelle Peterson and salutatorian Erma Young lead the scholars. The ceremony follows a baccalaureate Sunday and junior prom at the high school.

Engineers submit figures on oiling costs for Choteau avenue
Engineers Weimbcomb and Lackey of the State Highway commission met Choteau city officials to discuss oiling Main avenue from Birch Creek to Langey’s corner. The state will oil a 20 foot center strip at its expense. city must fund 25 feet on both sides totaling about a mile and a quarter. City action awaits an attorney general ruling before proceeding. Oiling began at Birch Creek and is advancing at about a mile per day, with completion expected around early July.

J A Baart a longtime Teton County resident farmer and businessman filed last Thursday on the Democratic ticket for county commissioner from the second district. Born 1869 in Hillsdale Michigan he has lived in the county since 1892 and worked in ranching farming blacksmithing and auto livery prior to settling in Choteau Fairfield and other communities.

All-Stars Plan to Get Going Reorganized Team Formed

The Teton county grade school meet will be held Saturday with about five hundred pupils and teachers expected. Fifteen schools will perform, a parade led by Boy Scouts ends at the high school, and ribbons are awarded in the afternoon. Prizes for the best parade float are offered by the Chateau Lions Club.
