Fishing Season Opens May 20 in Montana County
Montana Fish and Game Commission released 1945 fishing rules for Teton county with open dates May 20 to November 15 and bans on minnows only in waters tributary to Gibson Reservoir. Closed waters include Big George Creek Hanan Creek Wagner Creek and Blacktail Creek with Pishkun Reservoir closed Nov 16 1945 to July 14 1946. Winter rules run Dec 1 1945 to March 15 1946 and select waters stay open through holes in the creek at Bynum Reservoir Arod Lake and Split Rock Lake.

James E Underwood 20 of Chateau Montana was commissioned second lieutenant by 15th Army Air Force. Former flight officer and aerial navigator with a Liberator crew in the 455th bombardment group entered the Air Corps Feb 15 1943. Pvt Janette Groot arrived for furlough in Chateau from Pasadena hospital where she drives an ambulance. Charles Nesbit a U S Navy sailor on leave living at home. he served 15 months in the Pacific with a recent Iwo Jima encounter. He is brother to Jack Nesbit killed in action in Europe. Pvt James Anderson on furlough from Camp Roberts will depart for Camp Meade. his brother Herbert Anderson a student at MSC Bozeman visited.

A sweeping dust storm from the Provinces drenched Teton county and northern Montana Saturday night into Sunday. Dust blanketed sidewalks cars and lawns and settled on buildings and inside homes. No major damage reported but stockmen warn dust in forage could affect livestock digestion and nostril clogging.
