A portable coronary care unit will be installed, rooms 16 and 17 converted for a coronary and intensive care setup, and nursery remodels plus fire safety upgrades completed. Blood Drive Set For May 19 At Chateau United Church
The final blood drawing of the fiscal year is scheduled for Monday, May 19, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Chateau United Methodist Church. The quota is 65 pints, with 59 pints needed to reach the 195 pint yearly goal, after 136 pints donated in the first two drawings. Mrs. Grant Curtis urges regular donors to give and welcomes new donors, noting April was slow and more blood will be needed as summer approaches.

County Fire Department Answers Fire Call Near Clinic

Two-Car Crash Near Dutton Injures Driver and Passenger
A five mile north of Dutton on Highway 91 crash injured Cecil Daley and sent Mrs Daley to hospital after a rear collision with Arthur Olson in Great Falls. Patrolman Dick Chase cited about $2000 in damage and said the cause and movements are under investigation. In Pondora County another crash killed Sandra Shaw and left two other occupants hospitalized after a VW rollover following a lane change.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Great Falls for David Bodkins of Augusta born in Whalen Michigan He homesteaded near Monarch after marrying in 1919 and later lived at Wolf Creek He farmed near Simms 1948 then moved to Augusta last year He was a Navy veteran of World War II Survivors include widow Annie two sons Jack and Dave a daughter Roberta Moody Helena eight grandchildren two great grandchildren and a brother and sister Mike Dellno of Helena was a weekend guest of Mr and Mrs Bob Scott and family.

Ophelia Kingsbury Forrest 97 longtime area resident died Monday at Depner Nursing Home in Chateau. Funeral services today at United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Ian Smith officiating. Interment in Chateau Cemetery. Born in Victoria Texas in 1871, she helped found the Tuesday Morning Musical Club in Great Falls in 1894, guiding local music and leading the oldest women’s group there.

Eagles Outrun Bulldogs Twice in Week Track Tests
Choteau’s track team finished second to Fairfield in two meets. In a Wednesday dual, the Eagles beat the Bulldogs 79-63. Saturday’s home meet saw Fairfield win with 74 percent of points. Choteau was second at 59 percent. Stan Buresh led Fairfield with three marks and 24 points, including new records in long jump 21 feet 11 3/4 inches, pole vault 13 feet 1 inch, and triple jump 42 feet 9 1/2 inches. Ameline led Choteau with 17 points, aided by Buck’s praise for his hurdles and triple jump.
