Julius Wuerthner known as past Lions president will preside as master of ceremonies for the Chateau Lions anniversary program. Paul Moreland of Raymond Alberta will give the principal address in the high school auditorium. District Governors Lewis and Nelson attend, with zone meetings planned in multiple towns. Wives meet at 2 to 5 pm. banquet at 7 pm, dance at 10 pm in the high school facilities. Chateau Lions were organized April 22 1927 with listed charter members. Arrangement committees announced for the anniversary event.

Choteau youth recalls Texas City rescue and blasts
Seaman Wesley Beck of Choteau wrote from Corpus Christi naval station about his role in the first rescue squads at Texas City after the explosions. He described helping clear debris, hauling loads, and narrowly escaping a flaming truck as chlorine and chemical smoke filled the air. Beck, a Teton County high school graduate, stayed on duty and later returned home for leave planned around July 4.

Richard Vick, a Montana State journalism major and former Choteau reporter, is appointed news editor at KGVO Missoula. He served three years in the Army Air Corps with overseas time in CBS theatre and helped compile Army Airways Communications Service unit history for War Department files. He writes and announces KGVO news and programs also air on KANA Anaconda, another Mosby-owned station.

Concerts Highlight Music Week Activities In Choteau
Choteau public schools announce a week of concerts starting May 6 with a grade school program in the auditorium featuring songs solos and ensembles led by Elmer Erickson. Junior Prom at Chateau Gym Opens Hawaiian Dance Night
