Choteau Carries Out Annual Street Cleanup
Choteau began its annual street cleanup last week with drivers allowed to park in the middle of streets while city crews remove ice from downtown parking areas. Plans call for grading pothole filling on dirt and gravel streets and patching buckholes on paved surfaces. Alleys will be graded and leveled, downtown streets repaired and swept, and a May program will clean residential areas with leaves and other trash collected by city trucks.

Choteau area voters will go to the polls Saturday, April 1 to elect four members to District 1 school board and to vote on a 3.9 mill levy for Choteau High School and a 3 mill levy for Chateau grade school. Ralph Paulus took second and Kay Csek earned third for essays on America the Beautiful and Without Clean Water. The top winner advances to the state NF contest with a $1000 prize. Deadline set for ineligible voters to register in Teton County
The notice states April 20 at 5 p.m. as the deadline to register to vote in Montana's Teton County for those who did not vote in November 1960 and have not registered since. Eligibility includes US citizenship, Montana residency one year, Teton County 80 days before the election, and age 21. About 39 new registrations since 1960. ~300 became ineligible by not voting.
