About 50 farmers attended the Teton County Farmers Union annual meeting in Cha teau to elect officers hear speakers and discuss farm problems. Officers re elected included Paul Mathis president and H. J. Nichol secretary treasurer with other executive committee members. County Agent Fred Willson spoke on strip farming and soil erosion control while H D Rolph broadened on organization and soil conservation acts.

Public meetings on soil saving with Prof Mutton speakers
Officials of the Power-Dutton soil conservation project with extension agents will hold two public meetings at nearby schoolhouses tonight and Friday evening March 27 starting at 9 a.m. Prof J G Mutton will lead as chief speaker. A list of co operators on the Dutton Power project is provided with 19 722 acres currently under agreement and enrollment nearing 25 000 acres by July 1.

Auto Smashup Near Chateau Injures Five
A Saturday night crash on the highway between Chateau and Claude involved four cars in a passing dispute. Five young people sustained injuries from cuts to a head concussion. Davida Proff was most seriously hurt. The collision occurred about a mile and a half north of Choteau.

Sup ervisor W B Willey and Ranger L H McLean arrived from Great Falls to outline an active 1936 season for the Teton district of the Lewis and Clark national forest. Plans anticipate two lookout towers, a game patrol cabin on Moose Creek, 15 miles of new telephone line, 18 miles of new trail, fence improvements, and a public campground below Baker dude ranch. Duvendack leads the district with Willey and McLean coordinating the season’s work.

Harlemites and Racketeers Win Double-Header Hoops Night
A Saturday high school gym double header featured the New York Harlemites versus Olsen's Terrible Swedes and the Chateau Racketeers against Monarch Lumber Co. The Racketeers edged the Monarchs as the Harlemites led 31 21 at halftime and won 46 32. Brime led the Harlemites with 23 points while Campbell scored nine for the Swedes. Fairfield Pupils to Represent Teton in County Flag Contest
Betty Young and Leland Walker of Fairfield earned top marks to represent Teton county at the regional flag contest in Shelby on April 3. Young led seventh and eighth graders with 94.13 percent, Walker led boys with 93 percent. Other participants included Tean Smith, Jimmie Richmond, Donna Fay Dauwalder, Christie Swanson, John Schaebel, Weldon Swanson, Katharine Sabacos, Margaret Mehl, Bob McDonald, and Sidney Raeschlin. About 55 4 H club leaders and delegates attended the annual Spring 4 H council meeting at the courthouse last Saturday. Officers elected included Harry Lauback president I C Riphenburg secretary J M Mjosness vice president and Herb Moon treasurer. Plans call for a rodent control contest judging and demonstration eliminations at county level and fair exhibits at North Montana fair with a junior 4 H fair in Teton county next fall. Cash prizes were set for home economics and agriculture judging and dress revue contests. A 4 H party is planned March 28 at the Teton county high school and an all county picnic may occur in June. Led by Lillian Stone the home demonstration agent, sessions covered home economic training and leader training for agriculture delegates.

Gopher poison distributed at eight county centers
