Improvements began Monday on the Chateau Implement Co building. A new plate glass front and plate glass windows will be added to part of the south side, replacing previously small panes. D. H. Moulton and Henry Wallenhorst handle the work. W. E. Rice of Great Falls previously bought the building from Power-Morgan interests and leased it to the company years ago.

Glacier Park district Future Farmers meet set for April 10
Teton chapter hosts the Glacier Park district Future Farmers meet in Chateau on April 10 bringing Browning Cascade Conrad Dutton Simms and Walier students. Contests include grain livestock and poultry judging with three participants per school plus shop work for Farm mechanics and rifle shooting two man teams. Horse shoe pitching and baseball or kittenball are planned for the afternoon. Prizes will be displayed in a local business. Organizers invite livestock entries especially horses hogs and sheep.

Miners Attend Funeral for Comrade Killed at Certel Mine
Funeral services were held last Thursday for Charles Preston at the Methodist church, following his death Monday in the Certel coal mine north of Pendroy. The service was led by Rev. D. B. Fridley of Augusta and directed by Coroner Eddie Wyse of Conrad. Interment was in Chateau cemetery with about 40 miners present, along with Preston's father N Preston of Willamina Oregon and multiple sisters including Mrs. Jack Parker of Topenish Washington. Pallbearers were B. H. Read, Geo Kochman, T. A. Cornett, Paul Oertel, Clarence Kramer and Louis Morales. A ladies quartet provided music.

St Patrick’s Dance Attracts Praise and Support
Patrons praised the Chateau Legionnaires for hosting the St Patrick’s dance on Tuesday night. The Legion expressed gratitude for the broad support and favors received, noting a small expected financial gain. Coffee and doughnuts plus favors added to expenses, while Mrs. Cohoe Orchestra provided music of old tunes and Irish ballads. George Carroll, post commander, spoke on the Legion’s birthday and the program of Peace and Americanism.
Young Timers Elect Mrs Robison as President at Old Settlers Meet
Mrs Henry Robison was chosen president of the Sons and Daughters of Tetons Oldest Settlers at the annual business meeting and social session held last Saturday night at the Masonic hall. W H Wellenschtein was named vice president and Mrs John T Moore secretary treasurer. Joel Otness presided as outgoing president. The crowd was smaller than usual but the event was considered highly enjoyable with Tennants orchestra providing music. Refreshments followed at midnight with guests supplying treats instead of a formal dinner.

George N. Duvendack arrived in Chateau last week to assume duties as the new Teton district ranger for the Lewis and Clark National Forest. He succeeds J. H. McLean who departed for Lewistown. C H Stansberry inspector for federal emergency crop loans said blanks have arrived and are available at the county agent office in Chateau. He noted rules for 1936 were not yet announced but expected soon and likely stricter. He estimated only 25 to 30 loans may be approved in Teton county this year due to improved conditions and resettlement administration work.
