Lions Minstrel Show Transforms Local Men for St Patrick Event
The Lions staged a St Patrick's Day minstrel show at Chateau last Thursday to raise revenue for the civic fund. Performers included John Conlin as Aunt Jemima and Frank Stearns as Petunia. Miss Mae Waiton directed with assistance from Mrs. George Tennant, and Ruby Miller created the stage designs. The Cotton Picking Celebration scene drew applause, and a variety of solos and specialty numbers followed.

Racketeers End Season in Tough Loss to Hussmans
The Choteau Racketeers led Great Falls Hussman in a tight city league clash Saturday, but fell 41 to 37 in the final minutes. It was the Racketeers last game of the season with hopes for better support and finances next year, as sponsors consider backing the team more robustly. They also announced plans to present the high school athletic department with a new basketball.

Judge R. M. Hattersley presided the March term as six people received final citizenship papers, including Anna Sophia Haugen and Anna Carroll Wilson. A decree of divorce went to Arabella Shadoan from Henry J. Shadoan, and foreclosure or detainer actions were decided for several parties. The Brady Irrigation Co. intervened in a tax deed dispute over the Byrum reservoir site, with testimony heard and further briefs ordered. Probate matters involving many estates were acted on.

R H Fifield a civil engineer with the State Water Conservation board testified as an expert in a civil action between Teton county and the Bynum reservoir and irrigation district. He previously served as engineer for the Teton Cooperative reservoir Co. and the Bynum district during dam construction and irrigation surveys in 1924 to 1927. He renewed acquaintances during his visit but had to leave to return to Helena.

A new Wedum Federated store opened in the former Hirshberg building in Choteau this morning after six weeks of preparation. Carl B. Wedum and staff Maurice Wedum Ella Loomis and Irene Proff staff the store with emphasis on neatness and large stock while shipping delays left shelves short on men’s clothing and shoes. The store operates as an independent member of Federated Stores of America with a Chicago headquarters and is franchised through Butler Brothers of Minneapolis.
