Lions From Choteau Feted at Dutton Minstrel Program
Twenty four Choteau Lions plus several helpers traveled to Dutton Monday to present a minstrel show. The program featured male chorus and quartet numbers, piano duets by Mrs. E C Hensley and Mrs A C Hanusa, accordion numbers by Hensley, and vocal solos by Calvin Wixom and Irwin Erickson with Mrs. George Tennant at the piano. Rev R F Vick of the local Methodist church gave an address on club cooperation and the ensuing discord from group failure.

Farmers Fun-Feed in Teton County a Record Setback
About 425 attendees gathered at the county high school for the 13th annual farmers fun-feed, praised for high energy and varied acts. Big 4-H Rally Planned at Cha teau High April 9
The Cha teau high school hosts the annual 4-H spring rally on Saturday April 9 at 7 30 PM with 4 H members parents and leaders attending. The recreation committee chaired by Mrs Lorna Green organizes the program followed by dancing a small fee of 20 cents for dancers and group lunch provisions by each community.

No City Election to Be Held This Spring
There will be no city election in Chateau this spring. A state law passed three years ago requires full city elections every two years instead of annual council voting. The current mayor C. W. Burns serves his fourth term, first elected in 1932. Councilmen are R. R. Mellon and Paul Kropp from the first ward and J. W. Hentges and A. H. Doughty from the second ward.

CCC Enrollees Leaving Here April 14
Teton County Civilian Conservation Corps enrollees will leave Chateau at 8 a m Thursday April 14. The county quota is five principals and one alternate. They go to Great Falls for medical exams by the U S Army medical corps and will be enrolled upon passing. Youths must file applications now as April enrollment closes in a few days.

Eton FFA Boys Top District Meet at Conrad
The Eton Future Farmers swept the Glacier Park district meet at Conrad earning the Sweepstakes award for the third straight year. Eight schools competed including Browning Walier Conrad Dutton Power Simms Cascade and Chateau. The grain judging team led by Harry Luinstra with partners Van Scherpenzeel and Hodgskiss won with 2710 points. Conrad placed second with 2331. Luinstra earned a medal as high individual. The cup donated by Cascade Milling and Elevator will become permanent possession of the team after a third consecutive win.

Elmer Erickson Dead in Montana Blizzard
A Teton County man Elmer Erickson is reported dead after a blizzard swept northern Montana. His body was found Wednesday near Fairfield after the men had been out late socializing. Coroners believe no foul play and will await a brother’s return from Washington to set funeral plans.

Halladay Family Returns from California Winter
Mr and Mrs Ray Halladay returned to Fairfield last week from Long Beach California where they spent most of the winter and enjoyed warm weather. They note California also had summerlike conditions. The Hala days remain there while Earl Halladay is in San Antonio Texas. Flood damage forced a long coastal detour and a 150 mile inland side trip on their return journey, via the desert route.
