First R F C Relief Rush and Teton Road Crew

County Treasurer Eyes Test Case Over New Law
County Treasurer Elmer C. Smith received a letter from R N Hawkins assistant state examiner noting a constitutional question on senate bill No 3 now law. The law allows redemption of tax sale property before November 30 1934 without penalties but blocks tax deeds and assignments until after that date. If constitutional the county will refund interest and penalties. 1982 delinquent properties are excluded.

The county assessor's office reports good response to 1933 assessments in Teton county. Work began in March and reaches completion with an April 15 deadline before the assessment books are written. Miss Margaret Embody daughter of Sheriff Carl M Embody of Pondera county and Elmer Farle Wood of Conrad were married here last Saturday night by Rev. Edwin Dover at the Methodist church. Four Conrad youths attended with the couple and Clerk of the Court Frances Rosengren issued the license at 10 o clock that evening.

Two Attempt Jail Break Ends With Sentences
Albert Bougman received a one year term from Judge R. M. Hattersley for an attempted jail break at 6 o clock Sunday morning. George Hoffman, already serving for murder, is suspected as an accomplice. Police thwarted the escape as guards arrived during the inmates attempt to pry bars from the east jail window.

The city redirected water from the Richard spring west of the Cowgill addition after the old wooden culvert failed. A surface ditch, dug with a county-procured tractor and grader, now supplies a pond area west of the city pumping plant and aims to prevent last summer’s water contamination.
