Farmers Union To Hold Fun Feed Here March 23
The Teton County Farmers Union announced a mid day fun feed on Wednesday March 23 at the Chateau hotel grill room starting at 12 noon. Tickets cost 50 cents for union members with J T Kelly state president delivering an address at the courthouse afterwards. The program may include a Chateau quartet musical numbers dances from Oh Doctor and group singing. A bid for supplying gasoline and distillate for 1932 is expected to be set the same day.

Conrad Refining Lease and New Wholesale Plant Work
Construction began Monday on the Conrad Refining wholesale plant in Chateau with E F Belman as contractor and Harold Wheeler as local manager. The Conrad Refining company has leased Service Station No 2 on the highway at the town entrance and will open both facilities soon, with Perry L Withers announcing day and night service and a March 23 wholesale plant opening.

Blood Poisoning For Pendroy Man Causes Death
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church for Frank Vincent Hodges of Pendroy who died Sunday evening at Chateau hospital after a brief illness. Born January 5 1875 in Rock Island Illinois he moved with relatives to Missouri then Montana in 1910. He lived in Pendroy 22 years and was unmarried. Interment followed at Chateau cemetery.

J Moudry is here this week instructing P S Briggs on egg grading for the Teton Shipping association. A sizable batch of eggs has been graded this week with high praise for local quality, though cold weather chilled many and dirtied others. Dutton High School senior Miss Helen Sollid won the county bicentennial essay contest on George Washington, with Teton and Power students as rivals. Judges included Senator T. O. Larson and several local women. Sollid advances to the state competition in Helena. Sollid is noted for 4-H leadership and prior high national testing success.

Mrs Boussard led Tuesday’s session at the library with a review of Mary's Neck by Booth Tarkington. After business and refreshments, members planned another card party as a fundraiser. The club reported a $27 surplus from the leap year dance and agreed to pay $109 more toward the library building and lots.

Moye to Resume Work as Gravel Checker Near Chester
A. Be. Moye plans to leave early next week for Chester to resume duties as a gravel checker for the state highway commission. The Goble Contraction company has 10 miles of Roosevelt highway road near Chester to surface. Mr Meecker, superintendent for the company, visited Moye last Friday.

A. G. Stubblefield of the Giant Springs hatchery visited to discuss spring school event planning and projected improvements. He noted state plans to improve two fish rearing sites including a local pond project sponsored by Chateau Rod & Gun club. Water from Richards spring provides 52 to 58 degree temperatures favorable for fish rearing. If state funds proceed, 2000 to 3000 dollars may be spent, with city cost savings on water delivery and piping to the ponds.

A capacity audience at Teton county high school enjoyed the operetta Oh Doctor on Friday night directed by Miss Marguerite Vaughn. The vivid stage setting, bright costumes, and polished cast including Willard Paulus Bonnie Noble Anne Eckford Winona Roberts Gerald Stott George Morris and others drew wide praise from the countywide crowd. The high school orchestra provided music and Marc Butchart performed a trombone number with Miss Opal Moore at the piano between acts.

Attorneys Oppose Miller's Efforts for New Trial
County officials from Pondera Cascade and the state appeared before the supreme court to oppose a new trial for N R E Miller and Bert Williams. Miller, a youth of about 20, was sentenced to life for a September 1930 murder on a Great Northern train between Shelby and Great Falls. The four counties shared trial expenses after a Conrad jury convicted both men.
