Chateau school trustees outline a $190000 grade school building and a $175000 high school addition to be funded by a special bonding election planned for late spring. The plan envisions a 12 room grade school at the high school site and a separate 1200 seat gym plus farm shop and music room on the northeast end of the current high school site.

Julis Stenson Rites Stated This Saturday
Julius Stenson 170, longtime Choteau resident and former Farmington native, died Tuesday morning after a yearlong illness. Rev A Bernard Gradal will lead funeral services Saturday March 11 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church Choteau with burial in Choteau cemetery. He owned and worked with local firms and ranches before joining Choteau Feed and Seed Co. He leaves a widow Martha Berg, two sons Julian of Chateau and Boyd of Simms, a daughter Mrs William V Schmidt of Great Falls, five grandchildren, and numerous siblings and relatives. pallbearers are listed.

Car Fire Damages Interior of Burns Oldsmobile
A Choteau resident C. W. Burns reported his Oldsmobile parked in front of his home badly burned Tuesday night. Firefighters battled the blaze after onlookers saw the car ignite possibly from smoldering pipe ash. The interior suffered extensive damage while the exterior remained intact.

June Curtis Weds Ray V Olson in Las Vegas Nuptials

Western Union will deliver wire messages to Choteau on weekends by prepaid telephone telegrams, after depot closures cut Saturday and Sunday service. Sabades Rites Held for Retired Cattle Rancher in Choteau
George Vincent Sabades 63 of Bynum died in a Great Falls hospital after three years of ill health. Last rites were conducted at St. Josephs parish Choteau with Rev J J Sheerin officiating. He is survived by two daughters, a brother and a late wife Buna Campbell. Burial followed in Choteau cemetery.

Montana farmers saw overall price increases from Jan 15 to Feb 15 1950 with the all group index at 248 percent of the 1909 14 base. Meat animals led gains as beef cattle veal calves and lambs rose while hogs and grain values mixed. Wholesale milk fell and retail milk rose to 18.9 cents a quart.

Stove Fire Destroys Passmore Tesch Ranch Home
A stove exploded at the C. G. Passmore Charles Tesch ranch home 72 miles northeast of Chateau collapsing the single story house built in 1947. Loss is about 15000 with few clothes and bedroom furniture saved. Mrs. Tesch was home with her young daughter Vicky. firemen fought the blaze with water and asked for gas masks as flames worsened.
