The Choteau Bulldogs clinched the Northern Division title at Shelby by beating Sunburst Fair field and Cut Bank in a three day tournament. Coach Chuck Peck’s team earns a state Class B bid starting March 13 in Cut Bank with Burr Field cleared to join the squad.

Teton Pass Inc Holds Annual Meeting and Ski Plan Changes
Teton Pass Inc held its annual meeting at Olsen Agency Chateau with about a dozen stockholders and directors. Three new directors were elected Charles Crane Tom Evenson and Dick Conklin. Officers were reelected James Crawford president Dr Joe Crabtree VP and Leonard Blinrud secretary treasurer. The group moved the meeting date to May to allow a fuller financial picture after skiing season and will hold annual meetings on the second Monday in May starting 1970. The ski area reported 2,436 skier days through February with 2,153 last year and a projected near 5,000 for the season, noting a late-season surge after cold start. Directors approved opening alternate Wednesdays for the remainder of the season beginning March 12 with only the pomalift running, weather permitting. Public lift-ticket rates for nearby ski clubs and a midweek club option were noted, with further financial updates to follow after season end. The board thanked the region northwest of Great Falls for support and expressed optimism for steady growth amid Montana’s recreational industry.

Funeral services for Walter Bryan Corbett in Choteau
Walter Bryan Corbett 72, longtime Choteau area rancher, died of a heart attack Tuesday. Funeral Saturday at 2 pm at the Choteau LDS Church with Bishop Lester George Wright officiating, interment in Chateau Cemetery. Survivors include wife Dessie, sons Ottis Spokane and Lee Choteau, Don Choteau, daughters Bessie Stott Missoula Lorna Olander Moses Lake Jolene Hollar Cortez Peggy Martin Choteau, 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Cha teau High School junior Frank Hensley has been chosen for a second time to attend NASA NS TA Youth Science Congress at Moffet Field near San Francisco. Twenty students from six western states will participate in the all expenses paid event April 15 and 16 presenting Neuroprotein Synthesis exploring memory in mice.

Ticket sales begin at Chateau High for state tourney
Officials announce reserved seat tickets for the state basketball tourney at Cut Bank will go on sale today at Chateau High School for season ticket holders. Friday, sale opens to the public on a first come basis at nine dollars. The Montana High School Association sets the price. Superintendent Ed Schiller says 200 reserved tickets are available to ensure adequate supply.

Rathman Named Physical Fitness Leader at State Jaycee Meeting
Stan Rathman of Chateau was named Montana Physical Fitness Leader at the Montana Jaycees planning session in Livingston. He earned a plaque and a medallion after being chosen to represent Montana in a nationwide competition with a $1,000 cash grant for national winners. He has long been active in fitness programs, coaching, and youth athletics, including track, basketball, swimming, and intramurals, and helped found the Chateau Athletic Club.
