Assessment schedule for Teton County real and personal property
The annual assessment of real and personal property in Teton County will start the first Monday of March at 12 noon. County Assessor Fred Woodward announced that two copies of personal property reporting forms are sent out and must be itemized. Returns may be made at the assessment site or at the assessor's office in Chateau. Motor vehicle assessments require Make, Model, and motor number, with dates and towns listed for several locations from Agawam to Fairfield.

In Justice Sulgrove's court E C Beshear of Chateau paid 20 dollars for lack of proper license plates and a valid license. On Feb 26 Si Van DeRiet was fined 25 dollars for drunkenness and disturbance. In Justice Irwin's court Willis Rein of Dut ton and job with Teton Sand and Gravel paid 10 dollars for no license plates on a truck. Jerry Gunther of Chateau got 10 dollars for speeding at night on U S Highway 89. Larry Graham of Tiber Dam Chester paid 10 dollars for showing only one license plate. Elias Wipf of Chateau paid 10 dollars plus costs for using Alberta plates in Montana reciprocity violation.

Benson Names Jake Luinstra To Committee
Jake Luinstra of Chateau was named by Secretary Ezra Taft Benson as vice chairman of the review committee for ten North Central Montana counties. The panel handles appeals on wheat acreage allotments and marketing quotas for Blaine Cascade Chouteau Glacier Hill Liberty Phillips Pondera Teton and Toole counties. Luinstra has worked with triple A since 1933 and chaired the Teton county ASC committee until recently. He will keep his crop insurance business and his Tot Toggery office in the Larson building.

Chateau High School Concert Promises Wide Music Variety
The Chateau schools present a Friday March 4 concert at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The Beginner and Intermediate Bands perform a series of numbers, joined by an eighth grade double trio and two clarinet trios from the grade school. The 7th and 8th grade chorus adds numbers, with high school band selections to delight all audiences.

Anna Reiding Dies at 78 Funeral Planned Saturday
Anna G. Reiding, 78, died Wednesday at Teton Memorial Hospital from bronchial pneumonia after a year long illness. Funeral services are set for Saturday at 2 pm at First Methodist Church, with Rev. Grant S. Moore and the Order of Eastern Star assisting. She was born October 14, 1876 in Kollum Netherlands and came to America in 1890 and to Teton county in 1905. Survivors include son Richard A. Reiding of Choteau, daughter Grace Glade of Choteau, and grandson John R. Reiding with the 7th Fleet in the Formosa Straits. Burial in Choteau cemetery.

Snow Survey Finds Half to Two Thirds Normal Snow Pack
The Soil Conservation Service and Forest Service completed February-March snow surveys for the Fright Creek Aldron Creek and West Fork of the Teton River drainage area, and the Benchmark and Fire Bull of the Sun River drainage area. Approx half the normal snow for this date was found on the Teton and about two thirds on the Sun River.

A lien foreclosure action for 138593.33, filed in district court at Great Falls by Warren Aikens dba Aikens Drilling Co., names Riverdale Oil Co. Inc. as defendant. The suit seeks principal, interest, and foreclosure on land leases and pipelines, alleging work from July 12, 1954 to Feb. 15, 1955 after a June 1, 1954 drilling contract near Cascade. Two sections of land and pipe are subject to the lien.

Mary Patsy Edwards married James Howard in a candlelight service at the Methodist church on Sunday February 27. Reverend Grant S Moore officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride is daughter of Mrs. Bessie Edwards and the late Dan Edwards, groom son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Howard, all of Choteau. The ceremony was performed with the bride given in marriage by her uncle N. W. Edwards. She wore a blue grey wool suit with pink accessories and carried a white Bible with pink and white streamers.
