Charley Blackman an elderly resident over 79 was committed last Thursday to the state hospital at Warm Springs after a hearing before J A Baart. Witnesses included Dr H W Bateman Dr R T O Neill and George A Carroll. Sheriff Billings transported him to the institution Friday noting 1770 inmates.

Death by own action shocks Choteau dealer network
Arthur J. Stansberry, 42, a Westinghouse salesman, killed himself in Great Falls with an ice pick. He was a familiar figure to Choteau residents after visiting less than three weeks earlier and had been living in Great Falls for five years. The act was blamed on a nervous breakdown and melancholia. He was a native of Butte.

Drought relief arrives as Jupiter Pluvius rains on the county. Precipitation totals rise to .45 inches after a dry start, with records showing .34 inches to date. Past June lows date back to 1920 at .88 inches. high in 1926 at 4.55. The rain spurred widespread rejoicing despite uneven early coverage.

Girls Win and Boys Lose at Diamond Valley Kittenball
Chateau Cook and Chatter 4-H club girls defeated the Diamond Valley club girls 13 to 11 in a kittenball game. The 4-H boys were shut out by Diamond Valley, 0 to 8. Family groups traveled to Diamond Valley for a picnic day trip with 24 members and several chaperones.

Bondsmen Released in Buck Anderson Grand Larceny Case
Senator T O Larson and Chas A Franks were released Tuesday as bondsmen for Buck Anderson charged in district court with grand larceny. Sheriff J L Billings notified county authorities and Anderson was recaptured at Conrad awaiting new bonds. The charge was filed April 6 and involves a hoisting machine and property of Fred Lewis of Brady.

City Moves to New Quarters for Water Dept Headquarters
The city will relocate its headquarters to the new water works building on First Street and First Avenue Northwest. Henry Price, a Fairfield district farmer, was arrested on a petty larceny complaint by County Attorney B B I Packer. Officials found several items from Mrs. C H Davis at his home and court heard he took some goods but denied others.
