Despite wet weather Chateau hosted record crowds for a daytime and evening Messiah and concert program directed by Prof. R A Keyes. Local and outside talent received praise for the choir and orchestra, with emphasis on The Messiah pieces and the Sextette from Lucia di Lammermoor. Townspeople hope to make the event an annual celebration.

Teton County farmers embrace diversified farming as Chateau Creamery expands beyond butter to serve 2500 to 3000 cows, creating about $3000 weekly payroll. In 1923 the creamery paid over $100,000 for butterfat and produced 157,000 pounds of butter. Through June 1924 shipments abroad average 6000 pounds weekly, mainly to Los Angeles, while the region gains more sheep, poultry, and stock-feeding activity.

Three County Filing Says Wymer Third in Sheriff Run
C W Wymer joined the Republican sheriff slate this week as the third county candidate to file for county office under the new law. Earlier filings by Mrs B M Jacobson for clerk of the district court and W W Peterson for treasurer beat Wymer to the clerk’s office, with their nominating petitions in Deputy Carver’s hands last week. The new rule requires posting funds equal to one percent of one year’s salary for the sought office at filing.

Water damages gym floor at local high school
Water seeped between the wood floor and earth under the high school gym causing swelling that required tearing up the floor. A crew under C. W. Wymer and Lee Brown works to re lay the floor, with possible tile drainage installation planned to prevent future leaks. Estimated damage cost not yet known.
