R. N. Axford of Brookings South Dakota has been elected superintendent of School District No. 1 Chateau to replace Julian D. Ray. He accepts the contract at 2500 dollars per year and is an instructor at South Dakota Agricultural College. Axford has previously served as superintendent in Brown County and as school supervisor there.

Pioneer Dies at Home of Brother Near Choteau
Isaac Shipton Corson aged 71 died last Saturday at the Byron Corson home north of Choteau after a stroke. Born in Pennsylvania, he moved to Montana in early days, painted in Choteau, farmed near Manchester, and promoted irrigation that built one of the area’s first ditches. He was a full brother to Schuler Carson, Choteau’s first newspaper publisher, with burial Monday in the Choteau cemetery.

Former Choteau garage owner jailed on stolen property charge
John Kish formerly of the Pioneer Garage in Choteau was arrested in Great Falls by Sheriff Wm. D. Reiquam on a warrant for receiving stolen property. The case relates to a magneto stolen in April and later traced to Kish though he was released on bail. Preliminary hearing date not set.
