The Teton 4 H Club will hold a livestock show Saturday June 23 starting at 10 am along Spring Creek near Chateau Park and pavilion. The afternoon program runs 1 to 3 with a showmanship contest and judging by William R. Jones of Pendroy. Special trophies from Lowry Larson Bynum Bryan Corbett Sons and Fairfield Feed and Seed honor champion Hereford and Angus fat steers and the grand showman. Advance entries include 35 beef cattle 6 dairy cattle 10 sheep 2 horses 2 swine and 1 poultry. festivity features lunch and drinks by Collins Boosters Club.

Arizona spray pilot dies in Piper Cub crash near Pendray
A 31 year old Phoenix spray pilot named Pete Russum employed by Davis Aerial was killed Friday afternoon when his Piper Cub crashed five miles east of Pendray. Witnesses say he intended a second pass after circling a field but the wing struck the ground causing a fatal fire trapping him in the cockpit. The plane was destroyed and the body removed after wing removal.

Rosary Planned for Matthew Troy in Augusta
A rosary for Matthew James Troy 70 will be held June 21 at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Augusta with Rev. Thomas Gannon officiating. Mass follows June 22 at 10 a.m. in the same church. Troy died June 17 in Teton Memorial Hospital. He was born October 23, 1881 in Harriston Ontario and moved to the United States in 1899 settling near the Geyser area before relocating to a farm near Augusta in 1937. He married Geraldine McKeone in 1909. Surviving are a son Maitland of Augusta, five grandchildren, three sisters and his wife. He was a member of Modern Woodmen and Holy Name Society and will be buried in Augusta.

Wisconsin hog mauling injures young boy in Deep Canyon area
Richard Hovde ten-year-old from the Chateau area, Wisconsin, was injured when a 600 pound sow mauled him while he watered pigs at the Deep Canyon ranch near River Falls. Funeral services were held for Alexander Red Mansion Yule on Friday at Banks Chapel with Rev. C Fred Crowe officiating. Yule 54 died June 12 in Warm Springs after a yearlong illness. He owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Bar in Choteau and is survived by his parents two daughters Lorna and Louise and two foster children Jula Smallwood and Joan Siziallwood. Cremation followed.

Open house at Choteau Country Club Saturday night June 30 to view the house addition. League play begins tonight and runs for seven weeks with openings remaining. Funeral services for Laura Edseth Johnson 85 were held Saturday June 16 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev A Bernard Gravdal officiating. She was born October 29 1876 in Minnesota married Severin Johnson in Great Falls in 1901 and moved to Teton county in 1908 later residing in Choteau. Survived by two sons two daughters ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with brothers sisters and a twin who preceded her in death. Burial followed in Choteau Cemetery.
