Parade Entries Sought for Two Rodeo Shows on July Fourth
Choteau Chamber of Commerce urges entries for a July Fourth parade at Chateau featuring commercial and non-commercial floats, novelty and children divisions, saddle clubs, rodeo, and band music with cash prizes. Rodeo night show July 3 at 8 pm and day show July 4, plus dancing and open rodeo produced by Horace Raty. Cowboys may earn $1000 plus entry fees in events such as saddle bronc bareback calf roping and wild cow milking.

Little League and Pee Wee State Games Schedule Released
The schedule for the Little League and Pee Wee League state games was announced with free public attendance at the grade school diamond. Little League features four teams ages 10 to 13 and lists a full month and early July slate with color coded matchups and sponsor support from Dellno Agency, M A Motors, Chateau Texaco, and the American Legion. Pee Wee League teams ages 7 to 9 show a separate schedule with Maroon Red Yellow teams and sponsorship from Choteau Jaycees, Breen OH Co, and Choteau Feed and Seed. Recent Pee Wee games saw Red vs Maroon 10 to 8 and Yellow vs Maroon 8 to 3 with listed pitchers and scorers.

Harry Laubach, Dutton Lions Club member, was chosen governor of District 37 C at the District 37 convention in Lethbridge Alberta June 15 16 and 17. International President John L Stickley spoke to the group twice. Chateau Lions and ladies in attendance included Mr and Mrs Robertson Mr and Mrs C O Gorder Dr and Mrs Howard W Bateman and Mr and Mrs Leo H Murphy. The group drove to Lethbridge Saturday and returned Monday.

Pool Opening July 2 Plan Swim Classes
The Choteau Lion's Club pool opens July 2 at 2 pm with registration Saturday June 22 from 10 am to 1 pm. About 68 Choteau and 45 Dutton children have signed up for lessons. Classes run July and August with specific times for Choteau and Dutton groups and Fairfield in the pool.

Maude Jones Funeral Rites Held Tuesday
Mrs. Maude W. Jones 66 wife of Kyle Jones of Missoula died last Thursday at Warm Springs. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Chateau Methodist Church with Rev. Grant S. Moore officiating. cremation followed. Born Feb 13 1891 in Helena she worked for Strain Bros in Great Falls in the 1920s. Surviving are husband two sons Ross of Harlowton and Paul W. Jones of Richmond California a daughter Ruth Delger of Oregon City Ore seven grandchildren and sister Mrs W B Butchart of Seattle a former Choteau resident.

Bloodmobile Visit Tuesday Promises Community Blood Drive

Places in State Contest Group Hits Road Projects
A protest petition against the apportionment of Teton County Montana secondary road funds is to be presented to the Board of Commissioners at the July meeting. Wayne Proff, a Duton farmer and chair of a road committee for Districts 2 and 3, urged the Chamber of Commerce to back the petition, which calls for shifting funds from District 1 to District 2 and 3 and halting work on the Fairfield Power road until disparities are reduced.

Pageant production details shared at MSU meet
Prof Bert Hansen of the University of Montana outlined the pageant plan for Teton county noting 25 Montana pageants in ten years and their success. Polls Open Until 7 P.M for Farmers Wheat Referendum
County farmers vote on the 1958 wheat marketing quota referendum with polling places open until 7 pm. Chairman Lyall Schaefer notes eligibility includes farm owners operators landlords tenants and sharecroppers on eligible acres. Quota approval at two thirds yields price support near 178 dollars per bushel at 95 percent parity with penalties for excess wheat. disapproval yields 118 dollars per bushel and no quotas.
