The record covers the Regular June Term of the Board of County Commissioners of Teton County Montana. It notes official actions, votes, and orders issued during the session, outlining county financial matters, road work, and administrative decisions relevant to local governance in 1907.
The county board met at 2 p.m. approving retail liquor licenses for O. T. Kincaid and others, granting a fence around a cut bank, and adopting health and tax directives. They changed road district boundaries, approved an indemnity bond, allocated road funds, ordered iron fencing for the courthouse, and planned a special July 17 session to handle jail heat and fire apparatus.
The printing and advertising firm Trescott Bros dissolves by mutual consent after selling the business in Chateau to A B Guthrie. All firm accounts up to June 1 1907 are payable to C E Trescott who will settle debts of the firm, while individual member debts are paid by each.
Notice to horse and cattle owners that scab exists in Teton county and all livestock must be properly dipped before July 25 1907 under H B 324. Roundup outfits to gather estrays and deliver to nearest dipping plant for compensation by the livestock sanitary board.
Barber shop will be closed on Thursday July 4. Jos. B H. Penman signs the notice.
The Chateau village paper argues for a local baseball revival using existing players Jamesons through Jacobson and promising youngsters like Dodgskiss Tresscott and Armstrong. Editor Carl Burbank is urged to organize, fundraise, and sponsor regular games, calling baseball a wholesome sport for the community.
Judge Erickson convened court and the jury found C M Roberts guilty of receiving Canadian horses. Sentencing set at one year in state prison. Other cases including England Gallagher Hisenhbart were continued or pled to misdemeanors with fines or short jail terms. Pearson vs 3 N R R settled out of court. Clark vs Hoy proceeding pending at press time.
Ed J Hirshberg and Gertrude Kohn married in Missoula at 2 20 p m Wednesday June 12 with Dr Kline of Temple Emmanuel Helens officiating. Sadie Jonas of Butte attended the bride and Sidney Hirshberg was best man. Honeymooning in Salt Lake and Denver they plan to return to Chateau in about two weeks.
Wool sales reported this week include Coffey and Wallenstein selling to Putnam for Hecht Liebman and Co at 211.5 cents and McDonald and Rimell selling to Putnam for Hecht Liebman and Co at 2014 cents. J F Leech sold to Chase for Koshland and Co at 21 cents, with E E Leech also to Chase for Koshland and Co.
Call for bids for addition and other repairs to Bynum school house district No 12. Bids due Saturday June 22 at 6:00 p m. Specifications from the clerk. Board may reject any or all bids. By order of the board D Srwwanr Clerk
