The Choteau Lions Club will hold its Awards Dinner Saturday at the city pavilion with a social hour at 5 30 p m and dinner at 7 pm The program will be hosted by Stan Rasmussen Proceeds go to the swimming pool building fund for a new bath house Committees include set up led by Charles Joslyn Ray Kelly Gib Monkman Leo Murphy and B C Colbenson and clean up led by Stan Rathman Len Sheble Vern Smith Irv Thompson and Jake Tuinstra.

Police Department seeks applicants for two full time and one part time post

The City of Chateau invites applications to fill two full time and one part time positions in the Police Department, with forms available at city offices. The department must be formed by July 1, and the current police protection agreement with Teton County ends June 30 by mutual consent.

Band Members Sought for July 4th Parade

Local high school students former students and community musicians are invited to march in the Fourth of July Parade. The group will wear white shirts and jeans led by Lloyd Reynolds. Practices are Tuesday June 29 and Thursday July 1 at 7 p.m. in the high school music room. He urges horn blowing and time counting to improve marching.

July 3 4 celebration planned with parade and fireworks

Plans advance for Chateau Bicentennial events on July 3 and 4 with a children's parade at 2 p.m. in Skyline Lodge area, a rodeo at 2 p.m., a 7:30 p.m. history pageant, and a 10:30 11 p.m. fireworks show funded by donations. Parade entries encouraged by parade chairman Dr C W Boussard. Buffalo barbecue after parade and a free family dance in the pavilion.

District 3 High School Rodeo Crowds Shine in Choteau

Record crowds attended the District 3 High School Rodeo in Choteau with nearly 200 competitors from 10 counties over three days. Wade Barkshire and Jody Klick won all around honors, while Debbie Otness and Lennie Toren earned state berths and queen runner up in a weekend of action.

Rainbow Family Encampment Planned for July Fourth Area

Teton district officials report Rainbow Family members plan an encampment over the July 4 weekend in a chosen area, with 150 to 600 attendees expected. Arrivals may begin this weekend, while organizers elected officers and among rodeo season activities.

Fireworks Fund Drive Urgently Seeks Donations

Chateau Firemen seek to reach a 1300 goal for the July 4 show with two weeks left. Don LaBaugh says donations are ahead of last year but lag in overall participation. Funds may be dropped at Citizens State Bank Chateau Drug Isakson's Gambles Leo's Shoe Shop or the Acantha.

School Attendance Policy Study Receives 44 Responses

The school board collected 44 responses to a survey on the high school attendance policy 28 favored the current policy and 16 offered suggestions The board is reviewing ideas for a new policy to be enacted at the July meeting Members invite further input from the public.

The 1976 hunting season requires special permit applications by July 1. Permits cover mountain goat sheep moose pronghorn deer and elk with a $1 fee for elk or deer. Bicentennial County Chorus Formed For July Fourth program

Marge Hanusa will direct an all-county chorus for the July 4 Bicentennial program at Chateau. The invitation goes to all county residents who enjoy singing with one rehearsal before the Fourth and another on the evening of the performance.

County Government Study Commission Sets Meetings

Public hearings are set across Teton County to gather views on a preliminary report proposing an alternative government form. Meetings June 18 Fairfield, June 21 Dutton, June 23 Chateau, June 30 Power Community Hall at 8 p.m. Copies are available at courthouses and post offices.
