Kelly Guthrie to Tour Europe with Montana Youth Choir
Kelly Guthrie daughter of Mr and Mrs Bert Guthrie of Chateau will join 44 Montana Youth Choir students directed by Paul Ritter and Mary Moore for a month long Europe tour. She earned selection by audition and has practiced in Great Falls since last week. The choir performs in Montana before leaving Calgary June 20 with concerts in Missoula June 16 and Great Falls June 18 and visits Notre Dame Paris on Bastille Day. Guthrie will meet Ingrid Gassner in Salzburg during the trip.

A fundraising drive led by Bob and Ray Carlson of Fairfield seeks $65,000 to furnish the new hospital building. Choteau Joins Texas Group To Fight Flood Designation
Choteau agrees to join a Flood Insurance Litigation Coalition from Houston to oppose the federal flood plain ruling. The city estimates a share of 500 to 2000 dollars and seeks local donations at the City Office to fund the fight. Eight Vehicles Damaged In 6 County Accidents
Over six days eight vehicles were damaged in six accidents with no serious injuries. Incidents covered U.S. 89 near Chateau and Fairfield, a wind gust rollover near Chateau, a pole collision near Chateau, a Bean Lake ditch mishap injuring two youths, and a Kalispell bound Ford ending in an irrigation ditch. Dick Jenkins Dies Thursday At Great Falls
Richard L. Jenkins 76 of Chateau Montana died Thursday June 9 in a Great Falls nursing home after a stroke. A native of Texas he moved to Montana in 1923 and worked as a construction foreman. He married Mary Bushman in Spokane in 1938. they moved to Chateau in 1951. Survived by his widow and a Texas niece and nephew. Cremation at Croxford & Sons Mortuary. no funeral services.
