Accidents Mount as County Sees Third Death in Two Weeks

Weather and busy roads push Teton County injury toll higher with three deaths and multiple crashes in late May to early June. Linda Jenson died from May 27 injuries while others suffered hospitalizations and vehicle damage across incidents on Bellevue Road U S 287 and Blackleaf Road.

Gordon McOmber of Fairfield Montana will address Cascade County Farmers Union picnic at the Montana Farmers Union camp in the Highwood Mountains Sunday June 19. Fireworks Donations Pour In For July 4 Show

Donations are coming in for this year's July 4 fireworks show hosted by Chateau Firemen's sponsors. Don LaBaugh, chair, says hot weather fuels public support and the event will be held again. Elementary Graduation Exercises Held Monday at Chateau School

Chateau Elementary School held graduation in the high school auditorium on Monday June 6 for 60 graduates. Principal Stan Rathman introduced the class as Ken Depner presented diplomas and Lloyd Reynolds led the eighth grade band in a musical selection.

Consumer Day Planned for Fairfield

A Fairfield planning committee met on Thursday June 2 to organize Consumer Day set for Saturday November 5 at the Fairfield Community Hall. The 1976 Chateau event featured speakers displays and door prizes and this year organizers promise a bigger program with display tables via the Chateau Extension office.

Swim Team Meeting Set For Monday

Swim Coach Wayne Krahe calls the first team meeting for Monday June 13 at 12 30 p m. All interested students should attend. The season opens with the Chateau Relays on Sunday June 26 and the Cut Bank Invitational on Thursday June 30. A full schedule will be published next week.

S. D. No. 8 Levy Election Set for June 18 in Farmington

A special levy election for Teton County School District No. 8 will be held Saturday June 18 at Farmington school from 12 noon to 8 p.m. The vote asks for an additional levy of about 16 mills to raise 6153 dollars for maintenance and operation.

Linda Jenson Rites Scheduled In Chateau Church

Linda Kaye Jenson 17-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew A Jenson of Chateau died June 6 from injuries suffered in a May 27 automobile accident. Funeral set for June 9 at 2 p.m. in the Chateau Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Elder Cloud Stott to officiate. Pallbearers named. Burial at church. She was born March 19, 1960 in Conrad and attended Choteau schools then Choteau High School junior class. Commissioners Plan to Attend State Meeting in Kalispell

Three Day High School Rodeo Opens in Choteau

The District High School Rodeo begins Friday at 6 p.m. at the American Legion grounds in Choteau with about 200 entrants. Plays include boys and girls cutting on Saturday and Sunday mornings, plus dances at the pavilion. Contestants meet at 2 p.m. Friday at Jaycee Hall. winners advance to the State Rodeo in Great Falls in July. Ben Hoge chairs the event.

Gunthers to Manage Glenloyd Hotel in Salt Lake City

Stan Gunther and his wife assume management of the Glenloyd Hotel, leased from Mr. and Mrs. Paul Marinchek, effective June 1. Gunther, longtime Salt Lake City resident, prior work in carpet sales and rodeo circles, joins a Choteau event lineup featuring the District 3 High School Rodeo with 14 events and prize saddles, buckles, and trophies. The national rodeo in Helena in August will host over 1,200 contestants from the U.S. and Canada, with local participants listed and advance tickets on sale at Isakson's, The Foothills, and The Corral.

John Bruno Funeral Rites Held in Choteau

Funeral services for John R. Bruno 68 were held Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in Choteau. Rev. James Gannon officiated with burial at Choteau cemetery. Survivors include daughter Jean Lensing and several siblings. he was predeceased by wife Elizabeth Caldwell and a son John Jr.
