Free Dance by Choteau Band Saturday Night
The Choteau band will host a free street dance this Saturday at 9 p.m. in a roped-off Main Avenue area between the Choteau Drug store and Antler bar. The city will wash the street for a clean dance floor and Modern music will be provided by an 11-piece city dance band. Funeral rites for Kristian Anderson 62, Choteau farmer, were conducted by the Howard Anderson post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Graveside services followed at 2 pm in the Choteau cemetery. A World War I veteran, he died after a two year illness and is survived by four brothers and two sisters in Norway and the United States. He homesteaded with his brother Howard on Freezeout lake west of Choteau.

Montana Power to Build Cochrane Hydro Plant Near Great Falls
The Montana Power Company applied to the Federal Power Commission for a license to build a 60,000 kilowatt hydro plant on the Missouri River near Great Falls, named for Harry H. Cochrane. The project would add 220,000 kilowatts to Great Falls area capacity and feature a 103 foot high dam with 2,700 acre feet storage and two 30,000 kilowatt units. Cochrane, pioneer Montana engineer, spent decades with Montana Power and its predecessors.
