Daley Seeks Reelect as District Court Clerk on Democratic Ticket
H M Daley incumbent for district court clerk on the Democratic ticket last Thursday filed to succeed himself. He pledges economical, efficient administration if elected. Daley, son of the late John J Daley, has deep local roots and service in the county including military duty in WWI and tenure as deputy assessor and clerk. He is active in American Legion, Lions Club and Boy Scouts, and is married with four sons.

Deputy Gilbert Lee from the county assessor’s office visited Great Falls to learn his brother in law Frank E. Smith was treated at Deaconess hospital after a gravel pit bank collapsed trapping Smith and four others. Smith sustained a fractured vertebra and other injuries.

W L Bill Morgan was named commander of the Chateau post of the American Legion at the annual officers election. He succeeds F W Smith who served two years. J W Breen was chosen vice commander with other officers reelected. Rolland Ferris became sergeant at arms replacing Morgan. Morgan served in the 41st division overseas with the 163rd regiment from Montana. He enlisted from Bozeman and now farms north of town.
