Pendroy Beach Riders finished first with 410 points at the district O-Mok-See held at Fairfield rodeo grounds last Sunday. Simms Saddle Club was second with 260 points and Teton Saddle Club third with 250. Dutton fanale club scored 240. Great Falls Saddle Club 210. Augusta Mavericks 120. Greenfield Roundup 40. The pastor will attend the Evangelical Lutheran church convention in Minneapolis in June 2026. Daring Swim Proves Fatal For Airman at Pishkun Reservoir
A 19 year old Malmstrom Air Force Base airman Gerald A. Kootz drowned last Friday near Choteau while swimming with three companions. He disappeared in the Sun River irrigation canal and his body was found the next morning by one of the airmen as rescuers searched with a 100 foot net. Officials shut off water flow from Diversion dam during the night long hunt.

School Budgets Required Soon From Districts
County boards must meet on the fourth Monday in June to prepare and adopt a preliminary budget for the next school year. June 25 is the meeting date. Taxpayers may attend and speak on the proposed budget. Budget blanks have been mailed. estimates of revenue will follow. Eighteen elementary districts have voted special levies, and three high school districts have done so. Final budgets due July 1. open for inspection until the fourth Monday in July. Levies cannot be altered after the second-seventh Monday in August.

A spray plane pilot Jack Van DeRiet of Chateau jettisoned 600 gallons of DDT over a residential area near Matamoras and Port Jervis to avert a crash.
