Lights at the Choteau airport nearly finish installation to create a 24 hour emergency landing strip. A beacon operates and landing lights will allow DC3 landings, with clock controlled power and failover gears. Improvements are funded by city and county with federal aid, aiding ambulance and crop spraying flights.

The board of directors announced a dedication ceremony for Teton Memorial Hospital on Sunday June 24 with the new facility at Chateau opening a few days later. Lutheran Homes and Hospital Society will operate the hospital and has not yet named a superintendent. The society plans to announce a chosen candidate soon. the superintendent will oversee staff hiring and operations. Some nonessential equipment remains to arrive while site work continues including lawn seeding done by Chateau fire department volunteers.

Mass for Alvah Curtis Sherrill 79 of Chateau was sung yesterday at St. Josephs Church with Rev T J Gannon officiating. He died last Saturday in a local hospital after twenty years at Dr H W Bateman ranch. Burial was in Chateau cemetery. He was born December 25 1870 in Cloverdale Indiana and is survived by brother Homer of Crawford Nebraska and sister Lucetta Rawley of Brewster Washington.
