Snowstorm halts traffic in Pendroy area in June
One of the worst June snowstorms hits the Pendroy Dupu yer region with heavy wind and three feet of wet snow. The Pendroy road becomes impassable as 25 cars stall on Highway 89 and wreckers remove 15 autos from ditches. Three snow plows clear the highway as residents call it the year's worst blizzard in the area. The Great Falls Browning bus can't return to Browning until after the storm. Continued on page 2.

Reisch Succeeds Strong as Safeway Choteau Manager
Duane Reisch will take over the Safeway store in Choteau next Monday, succeeding Steve Strong who moves to Missoula to manage a Safeway there. Reisch, 21, has two years as head produce man at Havre, came from Cut Bank, and played for Havre Merchants. He and his wife Dawn have a daughter Diane and a son Dale. Strong began in Billings in 1929 and has worked in Lewistown, Havre, and other towns.

Jack Strong 19 son of Mr and Mrs Steve Strong of Choteau was wounded in Korea on May 29. A 60 mm shell pierced his right side, drawing a finger-size injury. He was flown to a rear aid station and expects one to two months of recuperation.

Sunray Oil corporation has awarded a cable tool contract to Dor Williams to drill near the Carl Malone ranch in Agawam. The project covers about 8000 acres in the SW SE quadrant of section 33, township 26N, range 4W, with Sunray headquartered in Tulsa. Plan to replace 1952 license plates with stickers
Helena officials will meet to plan windshield stickers replacing auto license plates next year. Warden Lou Boedecker and Deputy Motor Registrar Ec Gill will work with Highway Patrol Chief E B H Jng land to detail the plan. Boedecker says drivers will keep 1951 tags but show 1952 taxes and license fees with stickers. He notes steel plates used previously due to aluminum shortage and that stickers will be cheaper, saving money for the state.

Floyd H. Fay Dies After Heart Attack Enroute to Falls
Floyd H. Fay, 63, of the Dutton district, died of a heart attack en route to Great Falls near Power last Thursday afternoon. Born March 26, 1888, in Canton, Minnesota, he had lived in Marysville, Washington, before moving near Dutton nine months ago. Survived by wife Rena, two brothers Earl and Clifford, a sister Mrs. E. N. Weeks, and numerous nieces and nephews, his body was sent from Croxford's mortuary to Maysville for funeral and burial.
