Election of officers occurred at the Chateau Lions meeting Tuesday evening. Officers for the coming year include President Carl Wedum and Elected directors S N Halvorson W W Scott Arnold C Hanusa Eddie Howard J W Breen. J W Breen declined the presidency. Eddie Howard served as program chairman introducing Miss Nellie Parks who sang solos. Rev Richard F Vick introduced Rupert Boutilier and a device demonstration was shown.
G Emerson Miller director of the city band urges all members to attend rehearsal Friday evening at 7 p m at the high school. The earlier time avoids clashing with the liquorless night club for minors opening that same evening at the Legion pavilion.

Halvorson warns growers to harvest forage crops now and dry them properly to avoid mold and disqualification.
The county filings span June 6 through June 9 with several incumbents and new candidates entering public races. O G Matkin and E Nelson announce Republican bids for county commissioner and public administrator respectively, while Muriel Reiquam seeks superintendent on the Liberty ticket. Gilbert Lee and Albert O Peterson file for county assessor and sheriff, Earl G Wood and J E Young join precinct positions, with Lyle H Standish as a Republican state representative hopeful.
About 500 people attended the Trinity Lutheran congregation’s 35th anniversary in Chateau. Services began at 10 A M in Norwegian led by Rev A J Gravdal of Milnor ND and continued through the day with an 8 P M service by Rev Harold Engh of Conrad. A noon Ladies Aid dinner preceded a 2 30 dedication. Several neighboring pastors assisted. Cornerstone laying was led by Dr A Skindlov president of the Rocky Mountains District.

The Ladies' Industrial of the Methodist church packed 29 boxes of cookies and mailed them to boys from Chateau and nearby serving in the armed forces. Cookies were baked by members and others of the group.

After the May 26 Farmers Union meeting in Teton county a nominating committee drafted candidates for public offices. Paul Rine Pendray seeks state senator, Ben S. Peden Power seeks state representative, and H J Knapp Greenfield seeks county commissioner, all on the Democratic ticket. The committee included Knapp Connole Mathis Lehnert Habel and DeYoung. A June 24 quarterly meeting will be a picnic at Freeman's Grove.
The county draft board announces departure on Tuesday June 21 of a large group for military service. Over thirty men, minus those reporting elsewhere by order of the local board, will comprise the contingent the largest from Teton county to leave at one time. They report at 7:30 a.m. June 21 and depart at 8:00 a.m. by charter bus. The executive board of the Teton County Planning board will meet Saturday afternoon to finalize plans for a rural fire prevention and control program and a rural leadership plan in Teton County. The programs will cooperate with Civilian Defense and aim to divide the county into neighborhoods of 10 to 15 families with a man and a woman leader from each to organize fire safety and inform residents on war developments.
Chateau Woman's club president Mrs. Geo A Carroll designated directors and committee heads for 1942 43 including Library Program Membership Flower Show and Publicity. Flower Show date set for Saturday August 22 with location to be announced later.
Stamps priced at 5 dollars each go on sale at the postoffice today. They must be affixed to windshields of all operating cars after midnight July 1. Valid for one year ending June 30, 1943. Penalties apply after the deadline. each stamp carries a registered serial number.
