97 Percent Pass the Eighth Grade Exam in County
Sixty four of sixty six eighth graders in the county earned diplomas amid a 97 percent pass rate announced by County Superintendent Inez Eckford. Six schools earned superior ratings granting diplomas without the state test. two pupils failed. Top scorers include Leland Walter and Mildred McKee with 94 plus averages. Candidates Filing for Lesser Offices in Teton County
June 20 is the last day to file for county and state offices. In county races two Republicans filed for public administrator: C. James Smith, known as Cap, WWI veteran and longtime resident, and B. A. Roll, an insurer who returned to the county in 1928. Roll also serves as Chateau school board clerk. Other filings include B. G. Trescott for justice of the peace and Otis Mellon and Hei Duits as precinct committeemen. State filings closed yesterday.
