Honor and Awards Given at Chateau High Commencement
Fourteen special awards were presented to outstanding Chateau high school students as 38 seniors of the class of 1948 graduated. Tom J. Davis spoke on Youth Looks Forward while Harold Hinman and John Rose received scholarships to Montana State College. Howard Reiquam won the first American Legion merit award. Heisey cash awards went to seven students across all four classes. Dolores Jacobs earned a music pin, Marie Green received a Dillon Normal scholarship, and Harold Hinman gained a Readers Digest subscription. Tom Davis, former Rotary International president, addressed the class before the piece continued on page 8.

Trap Club Sets Trophy Shoot For This Sunday
The second annual Choteau Trap club trophy shoot will be held on the golf course hill this Sunday June 6 starting at 1 pm under Amateur Trap Association rules. Contestants shoot 50 birds from 16 yards and 50 rocks from a 20 yard handicap. Marvin Reeve of Dutton won last year. To win the cup permanently a shooter must win three times. Lunch will be served in the club house.

Impressive Rites Conducted for Warren Daley
A packed Choteau church paid final homage to Warren H. Daley a World War II casualty with impressive military rites. The repatriated Navy machinist's mate was honored by a full escort from the church to the Beaupre hotel and at the cemetery. The service included a firing squad taps and flag presentation, led by Rev. H. L. Engdahl with honorary pallbearers from the graduating class of 1941.
