Major Changes in Crop Insurance Plan for 1942
Wellenstein announces four major changes to the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation 1942 program. New rules simplify premium payments by allowing contracts for premium payment to cover all farms in which a grower has an interest, with deductions from indemnities or wheat loans. Notes mature August 29 and premiums may be paid in cash or wheat, with postmaturity cash value. Marketing quotas, acreage allotments, and loans are cited as needed to balance supply and protect the loan program, with Teton county farmers enjoying better prices.

Wheat Quotas Set for 1942 Based on Estimated Supplies
Secretary Claude Wickard announced wheat marketing quotas for 1942 using estimated 1942 43 supplies. W. H. Wellenstein, chair of the Teton county agricultural conservation committee, reported the proclamation to aid farmers feeding wheat this fall. Quotas apply to the 1941 crop with a potential high loan value, contingent on farmers approving 1942 quotas in a referendum likely next spring.
