Chateau to host 13-team Little League Invitational
Chateau will host a 13-team double elimination Little League tournament Saturday and Sunday July 23 and 24. Games start at 10 a.m. Saturday with three fields in use and conclude about 3 p.m. Sunday with the championship. Chateau fields two teams, Traveling and City League All-Stars, facing Geraldine and Valier respectively. Other participants include Fairfield Sunburst Dutton Conrad I Conrad II Fort Benton Browning Shelby and Fort Haw. The public is welcome to attend any game.

Bonnie Bremer, a 1977 Western Montana College graduate from Choteau, has accepted a teaching coaching post with American Falls public schools Idaho. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a physical education major and a minor in them. In American Falls she will teach high school and junior high physical education and coach basketball track and gymnastics.

Sidewalk Sale Set For August 5 and 6
Chateau merchants are reminded that this year’s Sidewalk Sale will be held Friday and Saturday August 5 and 6. The Chamber urges widespread merchant participation to mirror past success. Choteau hosts its first circus in years when the American Big Top Circus performs two evening shows this Friday July 22 at 6 and 8 o clock. Long’s Colorado Roots Shape His Move to Chateau
Long was born in Jacksonville Florida and raised in Denver Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University at Fort Collins and served three years in the Army two years in Alaska. He joined the Soil Conservation Service in Colorado in 1972 working in several towns before relocating to Sheridan in 1975. His wife Patty and children Annabeth and Chipper moved to Chateau earlier this month. He is a First Aid instructor and has served as an EMT on an ambulance crew and on ski patrols.
