Varnum's Account of Custer Battle at Little Big Horn
Col Charles A Varnum one of Custers lieutenants recounts his scouting with Crow and Arickaree scouts on June 25 26 1876 and his role with Major Reno before the village engagement describes timing positions and actions during the river bottom fight and the retreat toward the bluffs with notes on ammunition and troop movements.
