Old Timers Recall History of Buildings Which Will Be New Home Of New Choteau Garage
Old timers recount the history of buildings to be the New Choteau Garage site as preparations proceed. The narrative covers Billy St Clair’s 1890s barber shop, Chicago’s 1893 world’s fair travel, and later uses including The Choteau Acantha, a beer hall, and a saloon. Current renovations, led by Joe Knudtzon, include new floors, paint, and a Shell gas station front, with H. B. Adams owning the project and Main avenue improvements ahead.
