Funeral Services Held For Van Bolcum Child
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church for Alice Winifred Van Bolcum five year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Van Bolcum who was accidentally run over last Thursday by an automobile and almost instantly killed Rev Edwin Dover was in charge of the service and Charles G Roberts conducted the funeral Music was furnished by a choir and pall bearers were six young boys Interment was made in the Choteau cemetery

Buyers of Teton Wool Pool Announced
C. S. McDonald and Phil I. Cole bought the wool from the Teton county pool organized under the Teton Shipping association. The sales committee cited lack of a uniform price due to wool conditions and noted loans from the Regional Agricultural Finance corporation caused some growers to consign or withdraw. About 4,000 of an original 10,000 fleeces remained to be sold, with sales taking place here and at Fairfield.

LaValle Promoted Within Land Bank at Spokane Washington
Peter LaValle has been promoted to a position in the appraisal department of the federal land bank in Spokane Washington. He came to Chateau from Valier in July 1928 and has served as a field appraiser in the state. Mrs LaValle will leave Sunday for Spokane while remaining in Choteau to handle household effects. Mrs LaValle was a former district vice chair of the American Legion auxiliary. It is unclear if a Chateau resident will replace him. Richard Sauer is mentioned as a possible successor.

Recreation group plans September picnic at high school
The Teton County Recreation Association met at the high school auditorium with about 30 present. They set the first Sunday in September as the picnic date and formed a committee to plan the event and choose the location. The evening program was led by Mrs. G R Talbert Ed Savik and Robert Clarkson with new songs games and puzzles and refreshments. A new program committee was named: F W Smith Miss Lola Davidson and Miss Veda Thompson.

Unavoidable Accident Verdict in Killing of Child
A coroner's jury returned an unavoidable accident verdict in the death of Alice Winifred Van Bolcum. Foreman Alex Burrell led witnesses including Mr. Hanson who said he slowed from 40 to 26 mph to pass a stalled car near Glacier Park. A stop-distance demonstration showed Hanson could stop sooner than a comparison car.

Valley County Assessed Valuation Drops to 12.9 Million
