Bulldogs Win One Lose One In Weekend Tilts
The T C H S Bulldogs won a close 15 to 14 game on Potter's floor Saturday night but dropped two other decisions over the weekend. The girls fell 26 to 19 to Power and the boys lost 12 to 5 to Great Falls reserves on Friday night. The preliminary T C H S G F Reserve contest opened with a slow pace and ended 12 to 5 in favor of Great Falls after Moore and Mulvaney traded early scores.

Recreation Committee Sets Feb 15 Valentine Rally Date
The 4-H council recreation committee plans the county wide Valentine rally at Chateau High School on Saturday Feb 15 at 8 pm. County Agent Fred Willson says the event mirrors last year with clubs combining for five minute numbers and a common lunch. Charters will be awarded by county extension agents. Clara Alzheimer leads younger recreation, Harry Laubach leads older, with Florence Bush and Myles Standish handling arrangements and decorations.

World War Veteran Enters Federal Police Duty
G A Frederickson of this city leaves for Fort Peck to take federal police duties with the army corps at the dam project. A World War II era veteran, he served in the 348th field artillery and as a sergeant overseas. He previously worked in the forest service and is an active American Legion member.

Accidents Strike After Driving Hazards Increase
Fog and ice caused several auto accidents around Chateau on weekend. The most serious involved Miss Mariam Barnhill and Miss Grace Thompson of Teton County High School, who were treated for facial injuries after skidding into a truck near Manchester. A four-car pileup north of the poor farm injured multiple people, including J B Bowling and Dorothy Cox. others suffered cuts, bruises, and sprains. Additional incidents on Chateau-Agawam road left several with minor injuries.

Across the nation millions join birthday balls for the President with concerts in four Montana towns Dutton Fairfield Pendroy and Chateau. In Pendroy two orchestras from Great Falls and Tobe Talifson perform while Fairfield and Chateau feature Mrs Cohoes and Pearson orchestras. Chateau hosts a pre dance concert by the high school and town bands with a grand march led by Boy Scouts and students in new uniforms. The 9 PM radio address will be broadcast in the Chateau gym with special equipment. A midnight 70 pound birthday cake is cut by Chateau Woman's club and Legion auxiliary. coffee is 10 cents while cake is free. Proceeds fund infantile paralysis work with 30 percent to the national committee and 70 percent for local rehabilitation.

The Reickhoff-Drumheller wildcat on the Chateau structure seen a crank shaft failure. Drill halted at about 1,950 feet with 60 to 70 feet to reach Kootenai, then engine repairs rushed from Cut Bank and drilling resumed by 9:45 p m. Beck Community Ends Rabbit Drive With Dance and Program
Beck Home Demonstration club wrapped up a rabbit drive begun December 24 in Beck. Prizes went to Clarence Lehnert 93 pairs of ears William Wietke 84 Willard Asmus 34. Becker Child Funeral Held Monday in Great Falls Mausoleum
Funeral services for six year old Dean Charles Becker were held Monday in Great Falls. Rev. B Earl Parker led the service. The body was interred in the mausoleum after speakers and music by four Becker family members and others. A floral tribute from Continental Oil Co marked Mr. Becker’s role as Choteau agent. Guests traveled from Choteau for the ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Byrne returned from a six weeks visit to the Pacific coast and Idaho. They drove from Shelby where they stored their car and visited relatives in Portland Satem and with Caterpillar Co. E. E. Byrne. In Idaho they saw daughter Mrs. Frank Gaffeny and family. Power Young Man in Court Over Stolen Car
Lloyd Tudvickson of Power was arrested Sunday and arraigned on a misdemeanor. He pleaded guilty and received a suspended $100 fine and six months in jail, replaced by a year of probation. He admitted taking a 1935 Chevrolet from Gus Helsper’s garage belonging to Mrs Hilda J. Cutz, later found damaged along the Power Great Falls road. He said he intended to return it but was prevented by an accident. officers noted his intent to restore the vehicle mitigated the offense.
