Legion Auxiliar y opposes transfer of VA functions
At the Chateau unit meeting the American Legion Auxiliary backed the Legion's position against moving Veterans Administration functions to other federal agencies. Albert Lester warned division would revert to 1919 chaos, while the group argued consolidating benefits under VA is essential. They oppose a proposed United Medical Administration and a government insurance corporation, urging one central agency for veterans affairs. Seven high school girls performed for attendees. The auxiliary will canvass Chateau neighborhoods for the Red Cross drive.
