Montana internal revenue chief Tom Robinson informs farmers and ranchers about estimated and final return rules. If estimated returns are filed by January 15, they have until March 15 to complete the 1949 tax, otherwise Form 1040 must be filed by January 31 to avoid penalties. those earning two thirds or more of income from farming must act by January 31, 1950.

Bulldogs Host Sugarbeeters and Coyotes This Weekend

Choteau Bulldogs stage two home basketball games at the high school gym this weekend. They welcome the Chinook Sugarbeeters Friday night and the Shelby Coyotes Saturday night. The Bulldogs previously lost 40 36 to Chinook and beat the Conrad Cowboys 52 40 before an Fort Benton loss 55 30. Reserve Neal Bandon led Chateau reserves to a 31 27 win over Conrad Friday.

Poore Couple Mark Fiftieth Anniversary

Poore couple celebrates fifty years of marriage with roots in Shel by Missouri and a long Montana life. They moved from Agawam to Chateau in 1946 and raised a large family across Helena Livingston Lewistown Fort Benton and other towns. Traffic Fine Ordinance To be Enforced

John Hall of Fort Shaw discussed the city sewage disposal plant plans with the city council at the January meeting. He will study specifications, take measurements at the site, and report later, noting costs may exceed funds from a 1948 bond issue of 52000. The plant would be built near the current site southeast of Chateau and east of the Tom Hammond property. The council also amended traffic ordinance 49 to strictly enforce fines for double parking speeding reckless driving and other violations. Building permits were issued to Knudtzon Lumber Co for a new shed and relocation of two warehouses, I J Ferguson for a glass porch, and Della Hyatt for a tool house.
