After a six year fight Senator Garber of Sanders county pushed the bill to abolish the chancellor’s office through the Senate with a 29 to 23 vote and four abstentions. If approved by the House and signed by the governor, chancellor duties will be handled by the board of education saving $10,000 yearly. Governor Erickson supports the office. the measure faces a tough path in the House.
