At a general committee meeting held Saturday afternoon the Teton county high school will host the annual farmers fun feed on Thursday February 28. Tickets cost 75 cents and include the program meal and dance. Committees named include program eats tickets arrangements and music with local leaders selected from participating communities. Death of Mrs. Jennie Gorter Mother of Mrs. Reiding
Mrs. Jennie Rispens Gorter, mother of Mrs. A. P. Reiding of Farmington and longtime Teton County resident, died Saturday after a paralytic stroke and old age complications at 85 years eight months four days. Born in the Netherlands May 9 1845 she emigrated to America 44 years ago. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Chateau Methodist church with Rev. Edwin Dover and Chas. G. Roberts directing. Pallbearers were Nick Kooyman Pete Kooyman K R Smith Tom Groot Yelte Bakker and M Emaar. Burial followed at Choteau Cemetery.

Summer CCC Camp Planned in Teton Canyon
The county board proposes a summer CCC camp in Teton Canyon if local petitions reach Washington. Chairman Algon Udin says he discussed the plan with Senator B K Wheeler who supported petition efforts. The project would use CCC labor to extend the road beyond the Jack Baker ranch, unlocking timber and firewood resources.

The second Masonic party of the season was held at the Masonic hall on Saturday despite cold weather. H. D. Robison chaired the arrangements and after dinner the program included a tap dance by four girls, two skits by Te ton chapter members, and a vocal solo by Miss Janet Aldrich with Mrs Hanusa at the piano.

State Receives More Money from Counties
Montana’s county tax collections for the first half of 1934 totaled 1 156 749 76, up from 803 797 89, a gain of 352 951 87. The increase stems chiefly from a shift to assessed valuation for education. about 281 988 15 is from that change, with roughly 70 000 from improved business. Teton county remitted 22 722 82 this year versus 12 769 31 last year, ranking 15th in the state. Cascade leads with 111 159 53 and Yellowstone second with 67 119 84.

Burns forms county wide birthday balls committee

At a recent chautauqua committee meeting plans were approved to hold the third annual Teton's Own chautauqua this coming summer. Auditing and last season matters were reviewed. A Montana relief audit shows from September 1932 to September 30, total relief receipts in the state at 9,173,154.51 with federal grants from the Reconstruction Finance Corp and FERA totaling 11,456,058. County totals range from Silver Bow at 2,860,144.05 to Meagher with 15,274.80. Fifty-one counties exceeded Teton’s 17,717.03.

Auxiliary Enjoys an Evening at Passmore's
Sixteen members of the Chateau unit of the American Legion auxiliary met Monday at Mrs. Alberta Passmore’s home east of Farmington for a business session and social hour. Plans included purchasing 350 naval print plates for the national defense fund, a new nanny poster contest, a birthday ball on January 30, and expanding Bulliten subscriptions. Scouts Learn Bandaging and Respiration at Troop Meeting

A court of honor is set for February 5, tests due by February 6, and a local bugler will earn a summer camp spot. Legionnaires Act On Many Matters At Regular Meeting
Legionnaires of Chateau Post No. 6 held a monthly meeting led by Commander George Carroll and Adjutant Halvor Daley. They formed new committees, discussed funding for a FERA music course and band support, considered a new constitution, planned a hardwood floor and ceiling for the pavilion, and set debt repayment goals. Delegates were named for the Three Rivers district convention at Fort Benton, and youth programs with Boy Scouts were highlighted. The post aims to exceed its 50 member goal with 44 paid members and to focus on citizenship between Lincoln and Washington’s birthdays.

Turkeys arrive in 3320 pounds shipment from 28 shippers
The Teton County Shipping association received 3,320 pounds of turkeys from 28 shippers at Chateau Tuesday. Of the total 2,745 pounds were prime, 365 pounds were choice and 210 pounds were commercial. Advances ranged 14 cents on young primes, 12 cents on old primes and 12 cents on choice with 9 cents on commercials, totaling 443.64 dollars.
